Obituary of Jeffrey Bruce Karpen

Passed away, unexpectedly, on September 09, 2025 at home at the age of 81. He was a resident of Eagan, Minnesota. Jeff was born August 24, 1944 in San Mateo, California, he was the loving son of Anthony Karpen and Frances (Markas) Karpen.

Jeff graduated from Appleton High School, Class of 1963. Following graduation, he served with the U.S.Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. After the war, he returned back to Minnesota where he met his wife, Fern Dumpprope, in Minneapolis. They were married 52 years. Jeff worked 33 years at Snyder's Drug Distribution Warehouse Center as an Order Fulfillment Clerk prior to his retirement. Jeff enjoyed golfing plus watching the MN Vikings football games with his grandsons and daughter at his home plus talking about military/war history with his oldest grandson.

In addition to his parents, preceded in death by, his Brother Mac A. Karpen of MN, Sister-in-law Judy Karpen of MN, Nephew Michael Karpen of MN, Brother David Karpen of AZ and Nephew David Skaggs of OH.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Fern (Dumpprope) Karpen, his Daughter Stephanie Karpen of MN, Grandsons Connor Walker and Carter Walker of MN, Former Son-in-law Heath Walker (Kelly Garrison) of MN, Brother Mark Karpen of MN, Sister Cathy (Karpen) Skaggs of OH, Niece Kym Karpen-Drain of MN, Nephew Mark (Rachael) Karpen of MN, and Niece Nicole (Jim) Wills of OH.

At his request, cremation services will be conducted under the direction of Cremation Society of Minnesota. There will be no public service. A private interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. The family has asked that Memorials be preferred to the family to offset funeral costs.
