Obituary published on Legacy.com by Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home from Dec. 28, 2025 to Jan. 9, 2026.
Jeffrey W. Lindh, 71, of
Indianapolis, IN, passed away suddenly Thursday, December 25, 2025, and went to be with Jesus.
Jeff was born on 06/26/54 in
Pittsburgh, PA, to William and Jean(Royed) Lindh joining his sister Patti. Thus began Jeff's loyalty to the Steelers football and Pirates baseball teams.
When Jeff was in junior high, the family moved to Indianapolis where his father managed a local G.C. Murphy five and dime store. Jeff graduated from Warren Central High School in 1972.
He earned a bachelor's degree from Ball State University in Marketing. He spent most of his career in the food industry in sales to the major Grocery chains. He represented Stokely Van Camp, Gatorade, and Jennie-O Turkey to name a few.
While at Ball State, Jeff lived at the Christian Campus House serving as a member of the staff from 1976-77. It was the first weekend of school when he met his future wife, Lisa. Our first real date was the movie "Rocky" during the blizzard of '78. Because our New Testament Greek professor was from Minnesota, we knew he would still have class. We were right, and the only three people out at night the day after the blizzard were Jeff and I, and the professor. What began as a good friendship, eventually developed into a proposal. We married on 08/18/79. Our ages are 4 years apart (within 1 day). Had weboth gone to college for 4 years straight, we never would have met. Thankfully, God had other plans.
We have been members of St John Lutheran Church since wewere married. After Jeff left his sales career, he got a master's degree from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN. He always enjoyed good theological discussions.
Jeff is survived by his wife Lisa, sister Patti Hayes and brother-in-law John Hayes. He was preceded into heaven by his parents William and Jean Lindh.
Visitation for Jeff will be from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 30th at St. John Lutheran Church (6630 Southeastern Ave,
Indianapolis, IN 46203). There is an additional one hour visitation starting at 9:00 am on Wednesday, December 31st at the church. The funeral begins at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in the St. John cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. John Lutheran Church.
