Jeffrey Scott McMains

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, Jeff McMains of Shakopee, Minnesota, passed away from natural causes related to heart disease at the age of 44. This loss is sudden and devastating to all who knew and loved him, including his family, friends, and colleagues.
Jeff was a person overflowing with personality. His love of socializing was so strong, that even as a baby, he would not allow his mother, Kay, to leave his side. Jeff thrived in gatherings as an adult always engaging everyone in fun and funny conversations. He was passionate about the values he held dear, especially loyalty, personal responsibility, and hard work. Striving for excellence was something Jeff brought to every place he worked from the YMCA to Mystic Lake Casino and most recently RCL furniture.
Always needing to be active, Jeff's connection to athletics was a central part of him. Hockey, baseball, lacrosse, and basketball were the focus of his childhood while softball and bicycling were his hobbies today. His love of golf began in elementary school with his now passed Grandpa McMains who taught him the sport, which he continued to regularly play as an adult with his friends and mother. Jeff followed a wide array of professional sports, but the team he cheered for the loudest was the Chicago Cubs. He and his brother, Mike, travelled to see the Cubs play baseball from coast-to-coast, and Jeff will even be buried in his Cubs hat and jersey.
Jeff's relationships with his family and friends meant everything to him. Nothing captured his heart more than spending time with his family, whether simply hanging out with his mother and brother or attending large gatherings for holidays, birthdays, or other special events. Jeff's kindness was most visible whenever anyone he cared about needed a hand because he was always there ready to do whatever he could to help. We all lost our strongest supporter with Jeff's passing.
Jeff's funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 8 from 12:00-3:00pm at Washburn-McReavy Dawn Valley Chapel and Memorial Park, 9940 Bush Lake Rd, Bloomington, MN. The visitation is from 12:00-12:30pm and keynote speakers celebrating Jeff's life will present from 12:30-1:00pm, followed by a reception from 1:00-3:00pm with refreshments.
