Jeffrey Sabo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home - Ponte Vedra Beach on May 10, 2024.
"Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories." - Ronald Reagan
Jeffrey "Scott" Sabo, 55, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024. He was born on March 24, 1969, in Houston, Texas. Scott moved to Tucker, Georgia at the age of one where he fueled his competitive spirit by excelling in sports of all kinds. He graduated from Shamrock High School in 1987 and went on to the University of West Georgia.
Scott met Laura Nolan while visiting the University of Florida with a friend, starting a relationship with her (and the Gators) that lasted 32 years. They were married on March 1, 1997, in Jacksonville, Florida. In Atlanta, where they spent the first few years of their marriage, he and Laura made new friends by playing in softball leagues and visiting dog parks with their first "baby," a yellow Labrador Retriever named Gator.
After working for State Farm for 9 years, Scott moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where his family grew with the addition of identical twin girls, Lindsey and Jordan. He made the selfless decision to become a stay-at-home Dad and found his purpose by raising his girls. During this time, Scott also had the opportunity to pursue a life-long passion by obtaining both his Private & Commercial Pilot Licenses.
When the girls left home for college, Scott and Laura moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where they built a community of loving friends. He worked remotely for Treace Medical Concepts, building a brand of exemplary service to his teammates. At home he created and meticulously maintained a backyard oasis full of flowers and birds for he and Laura to enjoy.
"Everyone loves Scott." This was something that his family joked about but was absolutely true. His love language was service which he lived out until his last day. He will be forever missed.
Scott is survived by his wife, Laura; his two daughters, Lindsey Nicole and Jordan Sierra; his mother and stepfather, Theresa and Ric Porter; and his two sisters, Dr. Cynthia Ham and Cathy Sabo Klein (Lloyd), and many extended family members.
Please join us in a true Celebration of Life at Ponte Vedra Valley on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 1:00pm. A reception will immediately follow at Crosswater Hall at Nocatee -- located at 245 Nocatee Center Way, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32081. There will be a private family committal service.
Scott would want his celebration to feel like one of the many parties he hosted, so please feel free to dress casually and in color. Wearing Scott's "uniform" of shorts and a t-shirt would be a special tribute.
In honor of Scott's backyard oasis, vibrant spring flowers are welcome. In lieu of flowers, feel free to donate in his name to Good Sports at goodsports.org.

Hey all...heard the sad news through old Shamrock friends. I used to hang with Scott back in the Idlewood elementary school days until 7th grade. I lived .5 mile from him in Idlewood acres in Tucker. Spent many an afternoon hanging with the Harbor Oaks/Drayton Woods/IA group. There were a lot of us! We played football in his backyard and hung out at his house quite a bit. Ric Porter was my basketball coach at Rehoboth church a couple years. Was on a team one season with good friend Rich White and Scott. We all drifted apart by 9th grade but hearing the sad news rekindles fond adolescent memories of "Sabo". He was always smiling, friendly and happy as I recall.

Sending condolences and positive thoughts for the family and friends. Gone too early...
