1971 - 2025

Jeffrey Keith Shelnut, 53, of Augusta, Georgia, entered into rest on July 21, 2025.

Jeff was born in Macon, Georgia, but spent most of his life in Augusta. He graduated from Hephzibah High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Brandi Wilson Shelnut. They were married for 27 years and raised three children-Jackson, Alex, and Payton-who were the center of his world.

Jeff loved being outdoors and was happiest at the lake, in the woods, or out fishing. He was a big NASCAR and Georgia football fan, a loyal friend, and someone who appreciated the simple things in life-family, friends, and a good laugh.

He is survived by his wife; beloved children; brother, James Timothy "Bubba" Shelnut, Jr.; sisters, Allyn Albritton and Jamie Shelnut; and his in-laws, Tommy and Judy Wilson, and Bryan and Dede Wilson. Jeff also leaves behind his dearest friends: Bryan and Shannon Cates, Jerry and Wendy Stack, and Ann Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Timothy Shelnut, Sr. and Jacquelyn Morris Wise, and his sister, Julie Anne Shelnut.

If you knew Jeff, you knew he wasn't one for funerals. He thought they were too somber, too emotional, and just not his style. "But anyways," - What he did believe in was good company, cold beer, and celebrating life while we have it.

So that's exactly what we're going to do.

Please join us for a celebration of Jeff Shelnut's life at the Double Eagle Club, 2603 Washington Rd., on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 4:00 PM. We'll raise a glass, share some laughs, and honor him the way he would've wanted-with stories, smiles, and maybe a few beers.
