Jeffrey Wade Shuffstall passed away July 22, 2024.
He was born January 12, 1956 in Franklin, PA., the son of Harry L. Shuffstall Jr. and Wanda Jean Mackell Shuffstall.
He attended elementary schools in Rocky Grove, Claremont, NH and Oil City, and attended Oil City Junior and Senior High, graduating in 1974.
Jeff then attended the Butler Community College graduating Dec. 22, 1976.
He became lifelong friends with a handful of fellow students who all decided to venture to Oregon and work for the U.S. Forestry Service. It was quite an adventure and oh the stories he could tell.
His employment history consisted of Wolf's Head Refinery in Reno, Pennsylvania Game Commission in 1977 in Forest County, the U.S. Forest Service from 1978-1980 in Estacada, OR.,at the Mount Hood National Forest, Clackamas Ranger District, then he worked for the PA Game Commission at the Siegel Marsh Reservoir in Erie county.
He worked for a short time as manager of the Oasis Bar in Oil City and finally at the Cranberry Mall at its inception in 1981 until he retired in 1994 due to a disability.
He loved his family and the outdoors, particularly, summers at Chautauqua NY., hunting in numerous locales and vacationing at his FL. home.
He loved a good time and being the life of the party. His claim to fame was wrestling a bear at the Cranberry Mall. Clearly never a dull moment!
Jeff married Dana Michaels on June 9, 1984 at Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City, they were married by Rev. Roger Wagner.
Left to cherish his memories in addition to his wife, is his devoted daughter Danielle Nicole Harton of Oil City
And grandchildren
Lacey Claire Westerman of Freeport, PA., Allie Brooke Harton and Liam Jeffrey Harton, both of Oil City.
His siblings
Diane Skoronski and husband Jeffrey of League City, TX
Philip Shuffstall and his wife Tracy of Rockland
Sister-in-law
Krista Shuffstall of Oil City as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and beloved friends and family with whom he shared much joy, laughter and good times.
He was preceded in death by his dear daughter Ashley Brooke Shuffstall, his parents and grandparents, sister-in-law Shawnee Shuffstall and recently, his brother John Shuffstall.
Jeffrey asks that you celebrate life and his memory in whatever makes you most comfortable.
Jeff recently sent a text to a dear friend, and it is eerily appropriate.
"Reach out and touch one of your friends, for it might be too late to do and you will regret it the rest of your time above ground."
Friends will be received from 2-4 and from 6-8 P.M. Friday in the Reinsel Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Venango County Humane Society, American Cancer Society or to a charity of ones choice.
A future celebration of his life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Condolences may be sent at www.reinselfuneralhome.com
