Jeffrey C. Theurer

Jeffrey C. Theurer, 71, Thorp, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Stratford Heritage Barn, 208268 State Hwy 97, Stratford.

Jeff was born on November 28, 1953, in Marshfield to Paul and Agnes (Steines) Theurer. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic School and Columbus High School, graduating in 1972. He continued to work with his dad at Brookside Cheese Factory until it closed in 1981.

He then continued his education at UW–Stevens Point and UW–Madison, and lastly at UW-Platteville where he earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering in 1986.

Jeff moved to Seattle, working for several years before returning to Stratford. He then moved to Minneapolis where he worked at Detector Electronics Corporation until he retired in 2018.

Throughout his life Jeff filled his free time with long walks in Wisconsin forests, taking photographs and exploring geology. He planted many trees on the home place and on his own property. He was a creative woodworker and an avid reader. He appreciated music and was an accomplished guitarist.

He is survived by his siblings, Patricia Hastreiter, James (Cookie) Theurer, all of Marshfield, Robert (Rose) Theurer of Colfax, Rose (Dan) Leffel of Fenwood, Theresa Theurer of Stratford, Annette (George) Lescynski, Jean (Brian) Wegner, all of Marshfield, Karen (Les) Pinkerton of Bonners Ferry, ID, sister-in-law, Rhonda Steffen of Marshfield, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary "Betsy", brother, John, brothers-in-law, Roger Hoefs, Dave Weiler, and Charles Hastreiter.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you plant a tree in memory of Jeff.
