Jeffrey Thompson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Einan's at Hillcrest - Kennewick on Oct. 1, 2025.
Jeffrey Lyle Thompson, 68, of Kennewick, Washington, went home to be with Jesus on September 17, 2025. He was born May 23, 1957, in St. Peter, Minnesota, to Arden Christian and Mary Matilda Thompson. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1975 and attended Minnesota State University.
Jeff devoted his life to Jesus, his family, and helping others. A real estate professional for more than 35 years, he was the owner of Windermere for 30 years, where he trained, coached, and encouraged countless industry professionals while faithfully serving his community.
Jeff was appointed Real Estate Commissioner for the State of Washington, where he served for 12 years. He was also elected President of the Tri-Cities Association of Realtors multiple times. He loved his work, his many colleagues at Windermere, and the local real estate community.
Jeff shared a deep, abiding love with his wife, Patti, and delighted in his two daughters, 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He treasured his family. A lifelong baseball fan, Jeff enjoyed time both on the field and in the stands, cheering for the game he held so dear.
He is survived by his wife of 28 perfect years, Patti Jean Thompson; daughters Lindsey Marie Kessie (Matthew Paul) and Annie Nicole Watters-Wagar (Bryce Iven); sisters Jean Sandland and Jennifer Albrecht; grandchildren Gavin Elliot Vargas (Alex Joe), Lyza Nicole Vargas, Lola Grace Watters, Gwenyth Love Watters, Serenity Jean Gray Kessie, Ainsley Elizabeth Rose Kessie, Addison Lilly Grace Kessie, and Christina Lynn Garza (Michael Anthony); great-grandchildren Monty Mendall Smith, Nellsen Leonora Vargas, and Owen Anthony Garza; nephews Christian Albrecht (Danielle), Connor Albrecht (Hayley), Travis Sandland (Delaina), and Kim Loeffelmacher (David); as well as five great-nephews and three great-nieces. And let's not forget his four-legged partner in cookie crime, Yogi, who has certainly not forgotten him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry Thompson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel Tri-Cities, Kennewick. All are welcome.

Jeff recruited me in 2001 to get my license and join the Windermere team. Everything you are reading and hearing about his genuine passion and dedication to support and train and inspire others to be successful is just so true. We definitely shared the love of baseball! Sending prayers for his family and all who knew and loved him..Heaven gained a true Angel.. oops I mean a true Twins fan!

I'll never forget how we hit it off when we spent a few years working together on rewriting the WA State Managing Broker's exam. You were so fun and your industry knowledge was second to none. You made the industry better!!! My sincere condolences to your family. RIP friend!! Ken Sax
