It is with great sadness that the family of Jeffrey S. Warner announces his passing on November 14, 2024. Born in Akron, Ohio, Jeff was a beloved husband, father, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Blair J. and Edith L. Warner.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Michelle Warner; his daughter, Kaitlin Mariano (Dominic); his son, Jeffrey R. Warner (Cara); and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Jeff had a long and fulfilling career with the Akron Fire Department, retiring in 2014 after 24 years of dedicated service as a firefighter and medic. His unwavering commitment to his community and to saving lives was a cornerstone of his character. Outside of his work with the fire department, Jeff had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing in his free time. His love and desire to provide for his family led him to pursue painting as a side endeavor while allowing him to feel close to his father who had passed on in 1997.
Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jeff’s honor to the Bob Denton Safety Forces Support Center, a local organization that provides specialized support focusing on the unique job stressors that law enforcement, fire, EMS, and dispatch personnel experience, which can have significant impact on their physical, mental, and emotional health.
Jeff will be deeply missed for his sense of humor, commitment to his family, and strength. His legacy of dedication and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
