Jemima Jean "Mamie" (Orrock) Cibotti

Jemima Jean "Mamie" (Orrock) Cibotti, 83, of Venice, Florida, loving wife of Toby F. Cibotti, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024, at Tidewell Care Center in Venice, FL.

Born and raised in Hyde Park, MA, Mamie graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1958, where her yearbook photo included the caption "magnetic personality, liked by all."

Soon after graduation, she began working for John Hancock Insurance in Boston, MA. In 1963, she had the first of her five children, at which point she devoted her time and attention to the loving care of her family. When the family moved to Duxbury, MA, Mamie enjoyed spending time on Duxbury Beach. As the kids grew older, she returned to work at John Hancock in Boston, followed by several years at Guardian Insurance in Norwell, MA.

Mamie married Toby in 1999 and together they moved to sunny Venice, FL. This August would have been their 25th wedding anniversary. Over the years they enjoyed taking cruises to places like Cuba and St. Thomas. Toby's children also greatly appreciated her kind and gentle presence in their lives.

While in Florida, Mamie worked for Surgical Associates of Venice. She enjoyed word puzzles, baking, and spending time with family and friends. She especially looked forward to Christmas each year. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful blue eyes, warm smile, generous spirit, compassionate nature, and delightful laugh.

Mamie is survived by her beloved husband, Toby F. Cibotti; her children, Kelly Medeiros of Dorchester, MA; Jean Kostick and her husband, Robert, of Keene, NH; Lisa McCarthy and her husband, Thomas, of Norwell, MA; James Medeiros and his wife, Jennifer, of Wayland, MA; and Robert Medeiros and his wife, Heather, of West Bridgewater, MA; Toby's children, Dorothy McCourt and her husband, Mark, of Sarasota, FL; Toby Cibotti, Jr., and his wife, Lisa, of Norton, MA; and Christian Cibotti of Norwood, MA; her sister, Lucy Frazer of Sugar Land, TX; sister-in-law Claire Orrock, of Braintree, MA; sister-in-law Margaret Cibotti of Canton, MA; and brother-in-law Nicholas Cibotti of Randolph, MA. Mamie was a thoughtful and loving grandmother to their 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Mamie was predeceased by her parents, Mary Jane ("Polly") and Archibald Orrock; brother Andrew Orrock; brother-in-law Donald Frazer; brother-in-law Benjamin Cibotti; and sister-in-law Sandra Cibotti.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mamie's honor to the Alzheimer's Association or Globe Santa.
