Jency Ann Brannen, 85, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023 at Evans Memorial Hospital. She was born August 21, 1937 to Walter and Ruth Bragg Smith and lived in Glennville all of her life. Jency Ann was one of five children and more affectionately known as "Sister". She was married to the love of her life for over 50 years and enjoyed being a farmer's wife and a mother to their only son. She loved to cook, bake, read and spend time talking to whom ever may call or stop by. Jency Ann had the biggest heart and would give you anything she had, literally, no one left empty handed at her house. She loved to be surrounded by her family and her extended family. Jency Ann was a motherly figure to all who was in her life or spent time with her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dartho Brannen, brothers, Joe "Sambo" Smith, Walter "Buck" Smith, Jr., sisters, Edna Gardner and Evelyn "Bo" Hook.
She is survived by:
Son, Gary Brannen (Renee) of Glennville, Georgia
Grandchildren, Candice Thompson (Henry)
Chase Brannen both of Glennville, Georgia
Great Grandchildren, Brannen Thompson, Molly Thompson, Jency Thompson, Maddie Brannen and Cruz Brannen
Extra Special Nieces, Alicia Rogers of Claxton, Georgia
Bethany Denning of Statesboro, Georgia
All of her family was special to her, she's also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Glennville City Cemetery.
Care and Services are entrusted to Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home, Glennville, Georgia.
