LIMA -- Jeniece A. Meier, age 92, of Lima, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Jan was known for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and her enduring faith. Her life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and the quiet power of a loving heart.
Jan was born on September 12, 1933, in Massac County, Illinois, to Clifford and Oda (Leukering) Corson, who preceded her in death. Jan was a woman of quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She moved to Lima, Ohio, where she built a life filled with purpose and joy, alongside her husband, Willis F. Meier.
She worked for many years at Pangle's Market as a cashier, a Security Officer at Lazarus, and also at JC Penny in the Lima Mall. The last 10 years of her career were spent as a self-employed, owner-operator truck driver with her husband, Willis. Together, they raised four children who carried their mother's legacy into generations to follow. She was a constant source of wisdom, warmth, and grace, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her children: Robert F. (Lisa) Meier, William B. "Bo" (Gina) Meier, and Tracy Szilagye, her son-in-law, Luke Witte, her siblings: Marilyn Sue (Dean) Godwin, Dixie (John) Luoma, and Patricia McDaniel, her grandchildren: Susan Witte, Sahra (Joe) Palte, Anna Hines, Ashley (Jarod) Parish, Nathan (Kimmy) Szilagye, Allison Szilagye, Ella Meier, Andrew (Kait) Meier, Olivia Meier, Sarah (Dan) Branaghan, and her great-grandchildren: Rylie, Bo, Penny, Ryker, Marrinity, Harper, Camry, Macee, Georgia, Kayce, Cali, Eleanor, and Ruby.
