There’s so much we could say about our mom. She was, without a doubt, the strongest person we have ever known. Throughout her life, she faced multiple battles, cancers, surgeries, and countless medical challenges, and overcame each one with the resilience of a true warrior. But this time, she was tired. At 80 years old, her fight came to an end. She was ready to reunite with her husband, her parents, and her siblings. As her daughters, we selfishly wished for more years with her, but it was her time to go home. We will forever miss her cooking, especially her sauce and meatballs, which she prepared with such care and precision to make sure they were nothing short of perfect. She always went above and beyond, putting so much thought into making everyone’s favorite dishes, even if it meant cooking ten different meals. Her kindness and love extended far beyond the kitchen. The 50+ people she played Words with Friends with will surely miss her, even though she beat them all regularly. And I know Jake’s slot machines will miss her too, she loved collecting those free gifts. No amount of pain could stop her from making her way to the casino to claim them.Above all, she loved her children and grandchildren with an unconditional, all-encompassing love. Her world revolved around us. Despite her tiny stature, she was a fighter in every sense of the word, letting nothing hold her back. She was the heart of our family. Now, we’re left figuring out how to move forward without her. While we find comfort in knowing she’s no longer in pain, her absence is a loss we will feel forever, a piece of our hearts that can never be replaced. We will miss her more than words can ever express.
