Jennie Higginbottom Obituary
Mrs. Jennie Mae Norphlet was born October 21, 1948, to Gertrude Tyson Smith and Earnest Lee Norphlet, Sr., in Lafayette County, Oxford, Mississippi.
Mrs. Jennie Mae Jones-Higginbottom was a member of Clear Creek Missionary Baptist Church, in Oxford Mississippi, now under the leadership of Dr. David Anderson, Sr.
Mrs. Jennie Mae Jones-Higginbottom was preceded in death by her husbands L.V. Jones and Jessie Dorris Higginbottom and her daughter Mary Ann Jones.
Mrs. Jennie Mae Jones-Higginbottom leaves to cherish her memories two sons: James Christopher Jones and Roy Lee Higginbottom both of Oxford, MS; one daughter: Mary Lee Higginbottom of Memphis TN; two sisters: Annie Mae Robinson and Rhonda Mae Norphlet both of Oxford, MS; four brothers: Earnest Lee Norphlet, Jr., Roy Lee Norphlet and John Fitzgerald Norphlet all of Oxford, MS and Robert Lee Norphlet of Water Valley, MS, and a host of grand-children, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Clear Creek M.B. Church, 35 County Road 313, Oxford, MS 38655.
