Jennie Catherine Scherpf, 82, of
Indian Trail, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Jennie was born on January 17, 1943, in
Queens, New York. A proud New Yorker at heart, she built a life rooted in faith, family, and devotion to those she loved. She met the love of her life, Robert Scherpf, while working at New York Life in Manhattan. Their love story spanned 63 years of marriage, a partnership defined by loyalty, shared sacrifice, and deep affection.
Together, Jennie and Robert made their home in New York, where they raised their five children: Laura, Karen, Susan, Robert, and Linda. As a mother, Jennie was unwavering-always present, endlessly supportive, and deeply proud of her family. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and full plates.
Jennie was a devout Catholic, and her faith guided her life with quiet strength and grace. She lived her beliefs through kindness, generosity, and a steadfast commitment to her family.
Few things brought Jennie more joy than spending time with those she loved. Her kitchen was the heart of the home, and her famous goulash and chocolate chip cake were legendary. Family gatherings were her greatest happiness, especially cherished trips to Pigeon Forge and Lake Norman, where memories were made year after year.
Jennie treasured her role as a grandmother. She is survived by her ten grandchildren: Bridget, Kyle, AJ, Kevin, Jenna, Carina, Abbey, Eddie, Emily, and Katie, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Jennie is also survived by her beloved brother, Charles Postler.
