December 16, 1979 – November 20, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Jennifer, who passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the age of 45.

Jennifer was a loving daughter, cherished sister, a devoted aunt, and a kind friend whose life was defined by a truly big heart and kind spirit. She was someone who simply loved to have a good time.

Born on December 16, 1979, Jennifer was born and raised in Weslaco, TX. She grew up alongside her younger sister, Katherine Cavazos. Separated by just two and a half years, the two shared a bond that was immediate, constant, and unbreakable.

Jennifer had a deep love for music and a passion for singing. Many joyful memories were made with her singing along to old Dixie Chick songs at the top of her lungs.

Jennifer's greatest joy in life, and the light of her existence, was her beloved nieces and nephews, whom she adored more than anything else. Her heart belonged especially to her autistic nephew, Dylan, and she adored her only niece, the beautiful Rachel. She also held a very special place in her heart for her other nephews: Marcus, her first nephew; silly, playful Benji; and handsome baby boy Derek.

Jennifer was deeply loved and cared for by her large, blended family. She resided with her mother, Cynthia, and her loving and caring stepfather, Julio, up until the time of her passing. She was also very close with her brother, DJ, and his wife, Janet. Furthermore, Jennifer was blessed to have a brother-in-law, Robert, who was always good to her and loved her like his own sister.

Jennifer will be deeply missed by all who were touched by her gentle soul. While our hearts are broken by her premature departure, we take comfort in knowing she is now resting in heavenly peace.

She is survived by her mother, Cynthia and stepfather, Julio Casas; her father, Domingo Desiga, and his wife, Mina; her sister, Katherine, and Robert Cavazos her brother DJ and his wife Janet Desiga, her half-brother, Dominic Desiga; her step-sister, Elisha and her husband Homer Zavala; her step-brother, Stefan and his wife Amanda Casas; her step-son, Alex Hilario; and her beloved nieces and nephews: Dylan, Rachel, Marcus, Benji, Aria and Derek.

Special thank you to Denis who took care of her to the end.

A funeral mass will be held at St Paul Catholic Church in Mission, TX, on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM.

Closing Sentiment

> "Jennifer's legacy is the love she gave so freely. Her big heart made our family whole. She will be missed every day, but we find peace knowing her kind spirit is resting in Heaven."
