Jennifer Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Goldsboro on Mar. 5, 2026.
Jennifer Elaine Taylor Smith, 76, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 8, 1949, in Wayne County, Jennifer was raised in Greene County by her devoted parents, Ralph and Vera Taylor. The values of faith, family, and hard work that were instilled in her early years remained the foundation of her life.

Jennifer faithfully served her community through her career with the United States Postal Service, from which she retired after many dedicated years of service. Her strong work ethic and friendly spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

A woman of deep faith, Jennifer worshiped at The Bridge in Princeton, where she found joy in fellowship and growing in her relationship with the Lord. Her faith guided her life and was evident in the love and kindness she extended to others.

Above all else, family was Jennifer's greatest treasure. She was the devoted "Mama" and "Grandmama" who could always be found cheering from the sidelines, no matter the distance or the occasion. She made every holiday magical, especially Christmas, delighting in showering her children and grandchildren with love and thoughtful gifts. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and togetherness.

Jennifer found peace and happiness outdoors. She took great pride in tending her yard and flowers, but her heart truly belonged to Kerr Lake. Whether fishing, camping, or simply soaking in the beauty of the water, those were her happiest moments-especially when her family was there beside her. In her younger years, she embraced adventure and could often be found water skiing, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Jennifer is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Patrick Smith; her children, Selena Smith and husband, Mike; Dawn Arnold and husband, Joey; and Scott Smith and wife, Jessica; her cherished grandchildren, Taylor Smith, Jayda Smith, Harley Arnold, and Riley Smith; her sisters, Linda Vandiford (Doug) and Laura Ann Eastman; her brother, Danny Taylor (Jenny); her special aunt and dear friend, Brenda Sauls (Wilson); and several nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Her legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family will live on in each of them.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at The Bridge (Princeton Campus). A service celebrating Jennifer's life will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Andy Stovall officiating. A private entombment for the family will be held at Wayne Memorial Park.
