Jerald Jansen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals on Mar. 13, 2026.
Jerald "Buddy" Jansen, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 12, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on July 31, 1961, in Red Bank, New Jersey, Buddy was the son of the late Helen and Edward Jansen. He spent his childhood in Union Beach and later lived in Keyport before finally settling in Hazlet, where he spent 36 joyous years.

Buddy is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 35 years, Wendy Jansen, and their four children: Nichole Kalantsis, John Jansen Kalantsis, Mandee Jansen, and Casey Jansen. His legacy continues through his nine grandchildren: P.J., Bella, Emma, Gwen, Shea, Charlie, Cayden, Corra, and Violet, as well as his three great-grandchildren: Jack, Gigi, and Cecelia. He is also survived by his three brothers, James, John, and Jeff, and his sister, Diane Hersh, all of whom will miss him deeply.

A master carpenter by trade, Buddy was a proud member of the Carpenters' Local 255 in Hammonton. His skilled hands and keen eye for detail were evident in the 40 years he dedicated to his trade, with most of those years working with Woodward Construction, where he was respected for his craftsmanship and work ethic. Buddy's passion for carpentry was matched only by his love for the outdoors. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace in the serenity of nature, whether he was hunting, fishing, or simply feeding the deer and other wildlife.

Buddy's ability to fix just about anything earned him the reputation of being incredibly handy, a trait that was greatly appreciated by all who knew him. His willingness to lend a helping hand was boundless, and he often went out of his way to assist others. Above all, Buddy was a family man. The most important thing in his life was his family, and he demonstrated this through his unwavering support and presence at his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He was, without a doubt, the BEST Dad and Poppy.

Buddy's life was a testament to the values he held dear: love, family, and hard work. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the memories he created. Jerald "Buddy" Jansen will forever be remembered as a beacon of love and kindness, and his light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved him.

Please join his family at a Memorial Gathering on Sunday, March 22nd from 2 - 4 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Service will conclude the afternoon.
