Sandra Christman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals on Mar. 12, 2026.
Sandra-Lee Mary Christman (nee Robbins), affectionately known as Sandi, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on September 3, 1942, in Glens Falls, NY, she was the cherished daughter of the late Jess and Gladys Robbins. Sandi's early years were spent in the warmth of her family's home on Waackaak Ave in Keansburg, where she cultivated a lifetime of memories and friendships.

Sandi's heart found its counterpart in Ronald Christman, and together they embarked on a journey of love and companionship that would span 67 years. After their marriage, the couple settled on Carr Ave, where they lovingly raised their three daughters, Robin Marie, Lisa Lynne, and Valerie Suzie. In 2005, Sandi and Ronald retired to Locust, sharing their golden years with their daughter Lisa and her family.

Sandi's professional life was as vibrant as her personality. Her career began at Harold's Candy Store in Keansburg, where she not only sold newspapers and penny candy but also met her beloved Ronald. In 1979, she achieved a milestone, graduating from the Wilfred Academy in Red Bank with her beautician's license alongside her daughter Robin. Sandy's skilled hands and warm conversation were a staple at Hair's What's Happening and Plaza Unisex Salon, and she also supported her husband's business, Ron's Barber Shop, with her talents.

Her zest for life was evident in her youthful pursuits at the roller rink, Belvedere Pool, and the Keansburg Boardwalk, where she danced with joy and abandon. Sandy's role as the family matriarch was one she embraced with every fiber of her being. Her love for her family was boundless, and she was the epitome of generosity, sharing her time, food, advice, and even glimpses into the future with her card readings.

Sandi's legacy is carried on by her devoted husband, Ronald, and their daughters: Robin Marie Moore and her husband John, Lisa Lynne Canny and her husband Mark, and Valerie Suzie Christman and her wife Debbie Jaeger. Her spirit will continue to shine through her four grandchildren: Ashley Marie, John Michael, Amanda Leigh, and Mark Ronald. She was predeceased by her parents, her stepfather Frank Orton, and her siblings Connie Gerrity and Jess "Rusty" Robbins.

Those who knew Sandi will forever remember her loving nature, her kindness that knew no bounds, and her generosity that touched so many lives. She was a beacon of light in the community and a source of unwavering support to her family and friends. Sandy's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared and the lives she influenced. Her departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her presence will forever be felt in the hearts of those who loved her.
