Ray G. Christman, 85, of Lehighton, formerly of Slatington, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026, at Forest Hills Memory Care Center. Born in Slatington, he was the son of the late Gordon and Joyce (Druckenmiller) Christman. He was married to the late Fianna S. Christman for 57 years prior to her passing this past November.
Ray joined the US Air Force and was stationed in Texas and Los Angeles before retiring. He worked in the textile business for more than 30 years. Ray was a life member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Slatington, a former Scout Master for the BSA, member of the Lehigh Valley Quarter Midget Racing Club in Kuhnsville and the Ontelaunee Rod Gun & Club. Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to local Indian Pow Wows, visiting Montana, designing & building his own muzzleloader flintlock guns and spending time with family, friends and several grand dogs.
He is survived by his children, Ryan Christman (Jennifer) of Lehighton, Megan Christman of Schnecksville; sister, Denise Frable of Palmerton; niece, Lori Rhoades of Doylestown; nephew, Troy Frable of Palmerton and several cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Darlene Rhoades.
Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Boy Scouts of America or the Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club, both c/o the funeral home. Harding Funeral Home, Slatington has been entrusted with arrangements.
