Jerald H. “Jerry” Lathrop, age 99 of Raymore, MO, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025.
Jerry was born October 19, 1926, in Carrollton, MO, to Urban and Opal Lathrop. He married the love of his life, Betty Maelzer, on October 17, 1948.
His greatest joy was being with family, especially wanting to entertain the children.
He was a meatcutter by trade, retiring after 42 years. After he retired, he and his wife Betty enjoyed wintering in South Texas. He also enjoyed golf, fishing and was an accomplished woodcarver recognized in a national wood carving magazine.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 64 years, Betty; brothers: Donald Lathrop (Theresa), Robert Lathrop (Shirley) and Elton Lathrop (Shirley); daughter, Debbie Hart (Jeff); grandson, Jeffrey Hart and great grandson, Noah Bellows.
Survivors include his daughter, Martha Lathrop, and son, Kenneth Lathrop (Jeannette); grandchildren: Jennifer Fulk (Daniel), Andy Eggers (Tifanie), Lori Jones (Shawn), Karin Bellows (Paul), and Jill Lathrop; seven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Raymore Christian Church, 500 Peace Dr., Raymore, MO 64083, or, to the charity of your choice.
Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Raymore Christian Church, 500 Peace Dr., Raymore, MO 64083, with visitation beginning prior at 10am. Committal service will take place at Green Lawn Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.
