Robert Leslie Lathrop, age 92, of Houghton Lake, formerly Lansing, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026.

Bob was born on April 15, 1933 in Jackson Michigan to Henry Noyes and Marjorie (Ackley) Lathrop. He spent his early years between Jackson and Marshall, where he helped his family on their farm and developed the strong work ethic that guided him throughout his life. He

graduated from Lansing Eastern High School with the class of 1951 and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Following his military service, Bob continued his education at Lansing Business University earning an associate degree. In 1954, he married the love of his life, Patricia Vickery and

together they built a beautiful family and experienced many adventures. Bob dedicated more than 30 years of service to the Lansing school District, working as the Supervisor of the

Department of Purchasing and Stores from 1955 until his retirement in 1989.

Bob had a deep love of travel and cherished camping trips exploring our beautiful United States with Patricia and their children. He enjoyed bowling in a Lansing league with local business leaders forming many lasting friendships along the way. In retirement, he and Patricia enjoyed spending winters in Las Vegas and Florida, and summers on Houghton Lake in Northern

Michigan. He was an avid fisherman, model train collector and was always involved in some project or was walking. He liked to stay busy.

Bob was a kind, helpful, engaging man who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia and his parents.

Bob is survived by his children and sister as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Roberts life will be organized at a later date.
