Jeremiah Rush finally told cancer-lovingly nicknamed "Gary"-to go screw itself one last time before clocking out for good on Sunday March 23, 2025. Screw you, Gary.
Born on June 23, 1978, Jeremiah lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an impressive ability to teach his children sarcasm and how to troll-only to regret it later when they inevitably out-trolled him. He met his wife, Jessica, in February 2000 in downtown Minneapolis, and after a whirlwind romance (which some would say was just one really long date), they made it official in March 2001 with an epic Las Vegas wedding. The two went on to have their greatest achievements, daughter Zoe (December 2001) and son Kaiden (April 2003), who, to Jeremiah's dismay, inherited both his wit and his stubbornness.
Although he lived in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Utah, Jeremiah always felt most at home in Minneapolis, where he could fully embrace his love for the Minnesota Vikings, Wild, United, and the fine art of complaining about them. His passions rotated seasonally, ranging from video games, mountain biking, golf (regular and disc), hiking, camping, and whatever ridiculous new hobby Jessica convinced him to try. He was the guy who'd say, "Sure, I'll give it a shot," even if he had no idea what he was doing.
His legendary road trips with his best friend Derek were the stuff of folklore, and in his later years, he expanded his travels internationally with Jessica. He was especially grateful to have checked off his dream trip to Rome before his health declined-where he likely trolled some unsuspecting locals just for fun.
Above all, Jeremiah was most proud of his children. If he wasn't ranting about MN sports or politics, he would sing the praises of Zoe and Kaiden to anyone within earshot. He dreamed big for them, bragged shamelessly, and made sure they knew they were his greatest joy.
Jeremiah is survived by his incredible (stunningly gorgeous) wife Jessica, his extraordinary daughter Zoe (Isy), his phenomenal son Kaiden (Grace), his loving mother Janie, his slightly less-trolly but more creative brother Adam (Amanda), and a host of family and friends who will deeply miss his sarcasm and infectious laughter. He is preceded in death by numerous grandparents and his best friend, Cameron, who has undoubtedly already greeted him with a beer and an inappropriate joke.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contacting Jeremiah's best friend Derek to remind him that college football doesn't matter. He would have wanted that.
Rest easy, Jeremiah. We'll keep your legacy alive-one sarcastic remark at a time.

Bring your favorite board game or card game-because what's a party without a little friendly competition?
