A memorial service for Jeremy Erdmann, age 53, of Spirit Lake will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, November 17, 2025, at First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji. A visitation will begin at 10:30 AM on Monday at the church.
Jeremy Albert Erdmann, 53, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, passed away from cancer on November 12, 2025, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, surrounded by family.
Jeremy was born February 16, 1972, in Pocahontas, Iowa, the first of two children to Dale Erdmann and Kathleen Carlson. Shortly after his birth, they moved to the family farm a couple miles southwest of Milford, Iowa where he spent his childhood. His sister, Rachel, joined the family in 1973.
Jeremy graduated from Okoboji High School and attended Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Jackson, Minnesota in the lineman program.
He worked on many construction jobs in the Lakes area, at Fillenwarth Resort, Parks Marina and HTC Inc. of Milford, Iowa. He could always be counted on by friends to help with such things as getting their boat ready for the season.
Jeremy lived life and loved the outdoors. You could find him hunting pheasants with his dog, deer hunting, fishing or boating. He enjoyed his trips to Colorado with friends downhill skiing in the winter, on the golf course in the summer, watching football, especially the Broncos, and just hanging out with friends.
He is survived by his mother, Kathy Carlson; stepfather, Rolf Carlson; sister, Rachel Schoelerman and her husband Jeff and their four children, Clare, Kate, Adam and Mathew, all of Milford. He is also survived by his step-sister, Melissa (Richard) Delany and their daughters, Hannah and Sophie, of Highlands, NC; step-sister, Kirsten (Joey) Bair and their children, Isabel, Leo and Ian; niece, Mara of Pittsboro, NC; step-brother, William Christopher Carlson of Pittsboro, NC; uncle, Paul (Sally) Erdmann of Aurora, CO; aunt, Bonnie (Mac) McEachern of Lawton, OK; uncle, Dan Mealman of Milford, IA; uncle, Joe Mealman of Tipton, IA. Jeremy was loved and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Erdmann; grandparents, Albert and Gladys Erdmann, Betty Koster Nellis and William Mealman.
