It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeremy Scott Ohlquist, aged 36, of
International Falls, Minnesota. Born on September 12, 1989, Jeremy left us peacefully on December 29, 2025. He was a beloved son, husband, father, brother and friend whose warmth and humor touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Jeremy's journey began in International Falls, where he cherished his roots and thrived in the close-knit community. He found fulfillment in his career as a cook at the Border Bar, where he delighted in sharing his culinary passion with patrons. Jeremy was not just a dedicated worker; he was a vibrant presence, with an infectious smile that brought joy to those around him. He was known for his spirited love of football, especially for the Minnesota Vikings, and his eclectic taste in music, particularly metal. Friends and family will always remember his remarkable ability to make others laugh; he was a great comedian at heart who exemplified life's simple joys.
Jeremy's love story began in 2008 when he met his future wife, Chelsee. After starting to date on January 16, 2009, their love blossomed, culminating in a beautiful wedding on October 31, 2014. Together, they shared a deep bond that reflected a commitment to one another and to their children. Jeremy was a devoted father who cherished his role, loving his children-Xander, Emmah, and Corah-more than anything in the world. To Chelsee, he was her "Panda Bear," a beloved partner who made life a sweet adventure.
Preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, Darlene McGuire, Marvin Grotberg, Delores Ohlquist, Maurice Ohlquist, and Linda Ohlquist, as well as his cousin, Sean Ohlquist, and uncle, Maurie Ohlquist, Jeremy leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure. He is survived by his beloved wife, Chelsee; his children; his parents, Bruce and Debbie Ohlquist; his mother-in-law, Tania (Brett) Cook; his brothers, Jesse (Alayna) Grotberg and Chris Ohlquist; best friends Bobby Gaines, Dustin Hell, Joe Hoffman, and James Rask; nieces Lydia Grotberg and Lexi and Tori Jantzen; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
His loving spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will forever be celebrated.
