Jeremy Standefer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home - Huntsville on Mar. 24, 2025.
Jeremy Heath Standefer, age 48, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and close friends on February 15, 2025. He was born in Huntsville, TX on September 11, 1976, to parents James Standefer, Sr. and Pamela Marzahn Standefer.
Jeremy grew up in Huntsville and graduated from Huntsville High School, Class of 1995. He went on to attended Sam Houston State University and graduated with a bachelor's in physics in December 2002. Jeremy was a proud member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity while in college.
He had a passion for the technology field, especially fire alarm safety, which he spent almost 20 years working in. His most recent job was with a company called Summit and he loved working there. Jeremy was very mechanically inclined and if it had an engine and could go fast, he was all about it. He loved drag racing and working on cars. Jeremy's sense of humor was what most people loved about him. He was going to tell you like it was, no filter – so don't get your feelings hurt! He called it like he saw it! But he was also a very kind and generous person. Always willing and ready to help anyone who needed it.
Jeremy loved to laugh and lived well! His memory will be cherished by all who knew him and loved him.
Jeremy is survived by his parents, James, Sr. and Pamela Standefer; mother and father-in-law Richard and Cheryl Pring; loving wife Tammy Standefer; fur children Shiva, Piggly Wiggly, Tugboat (Tuggy), Annie Oakley and Chunk; brother Jimmy Standefer, Jr.; nephew Fabian Standefer and fiancé Samantha Dilloway; great niece and nephew Madison and Liam Gamez; aunt Glenda Degagne and numerous cousins, extended family and close friends.
A memorial celebration of Jeremy's life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville. Reception to follow in the Sam Houston Community Room. Memorial condolences may be made to the family at www.shmfh.com.
