Tanner Leon Standefer

Tanner Leon Standefer, 35, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on August 27, 2024. Tanner was born on August 6, 1989, to Darin Standefer and Tonya Buche in Yale, Oklahoma. Tanner graduated from Sedgwick High School in 2007. Tanner was a proud member of the military and served 6 years in the Kansas Air National Guard. After serving our country, Tanner returned to Oklahoma where he received a bachelor's degree in Management and a bachelor's degree in Marketing from Oklahoma State University. Tanner was a hard worker who spent many years in sales and marketing for various oil and gas companies.
Tanner was a loving brother, son, and friend. Tanner did not know a stranger and was known to make friends with anyone he met. He was always willing to step up and help anyone in need. He enjoyed attending OSU games, hunting, riding four wheelers, and anything that involved spending time with friends and family. The love Tanner had for his dogs and for OSU was unmatched. Tanner will always be remembered for his kind, loving, and caring personality.
Tanner is survived by his father Darin Standefer, mother Tonya Buche, brother Colby Standefer, brother Drake (Megan) Standefer, grandmother JoAnn Thimmesch, grandfather Gayle Standefer, his beloved dog Tank, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tanner was preceded in death by his grandmother Joanna Standefer, grandfather Leon Thimmesch, grandfather Duane Wiechman, and uncle Dale Thimmesch.
Cushing Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, September 14, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cushing, Oklahoma.
Garden Plain Memorial and Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, September 12, at St. Anthony Cemetery in Garden Plain, Kansas.
