Larry Dale Hughes

Larry Dale Hughes, 86, of California, MO passed away on February 18, 2026. Larry was born May 15, 1939 in Macomb, OK to Wilber and Mabel (Waldrup) Hughes. Larry graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1962. He married his wife Carolyn (Cummings) Hughes in 1964. Larry worked for Cargill for over 40 years. He enjoyed raising cattle and was an active member of the Moniteau County Cattlemen's Association for several years. Survivors include his wife Carolyn of the home, 2 sons; Randell Hughes and Kendell Hughes (Willadine); 5 grandchildren, Chris Hughes, Jessica Hughes, Alyssa Roberts, Luke Hughes and Hanna Lewis and 6 great grandkids and 1 sister, Juanita Bourne (Don). He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Justin Houston. Burial will follow at the California City Cemetery. In leiu of flowers memorials are suggested to Moniteau County Cattlemen's Association Scholarship Fund or Premiere Hospice c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services of California, MO.
