Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. at the Lighthouse Free Will Baptist Church, Haskell, Oklahoma. Rev. Mike Fields will officiate. Burial will follow in the Haskell Cemetery.

James Leo Pierce was born on December 12, 1947 in Yale, Oklahoma to Allen and Josephine (Wyatt) Pierce. He passed away on February 19, 2026 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years.

James spent his early years attending Stillwater Public Schools. He also studied at Oklahoma State University. His working career was spent as an industrial pipeline welder in the oil and gas industry. He traveled around the world extensively during these years. In his younger days, Jim was a biker and loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, as well as hunting and fishing. He later worked in maintenance at several different schools.

Jim moved to the Haskell area in June of 2018. He was happy to be moving close to his sister, Alberta Wood and her family. They shared a close bond and time spent together was important to them both. Jim was a member of Lighthouse Free Will Baptist Church in Haskell. He enjoyed giving of his time in any way needed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Josephine Pierce and his sister, Alberta May Wood.

Jim is survived by his brother-in-law, Dennis Wood, one nephew, Christopher Wood and wife, Melissa, one niece, Lora Wood, and nephews: Aaron Wood, Brandon Wood, and Dayton Wood.
