Lee Karen Campbell, aged 86, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, in
Haskell, Oklahoma. Born on February 22, 1940, in
Cortland, New York, Lee embodied a spirit of tenacity and joy that touched everyone she met. Her journey through life was marked by a profound dedication to her family, a successful career, and a passion for the equine world.
Lee's early years set a strong foundation for a life full of achievement and adventure. After graduating from the State University of New York at Fredonia, she embarked on a career in banking that showcased her sharp intellect and unwavering work ethic. Her professional life took a turn when she met and married the love of her life, Jim Campbell. Together, they ventured into the world of construction, where Lee's organizational skills and resourcefulness were invaluable to their shared business endeavors.
The couple's partnership extended beyond their professional lives, sharing a mutual love for raising and racing horses. Lee's presence at the track was a familiar and cherished sight; her enthusiasm and love for the horses were palpable to all who shared her company. The thunder of hooves and the thrill of the race were sources of immense joy for Lee, and these moments became some of her most treasured memories.
Lee's legacy is carried on through her beloved family. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Jim Campbell, and a loving mother to her children, Gordon and Kim Baker, Jamie and Neil Harwell, Christy Sutton, Jon Fitzsimons, Michael and Maria Fisher, and Todd and Evelyn Campbell. Lee's role as a grandmother and great-grandmother was one of her most cherished, as she was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Her guidance and love shaped the lives of each generation, leaving an indelible imprint on their hearts.
Lee's life was a testament to her strength, compassion, and vivacity. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Silver Spur Western Lodge, 4947 N. Kiowa Ave.
