Lyman Eberhard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dowdy-Marker Funeral Home on Jan. 13, 2026.
A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Haskell Cemetery.
Lyman Ray Eberhard, 76 passed quietly in his sleep at Hillcrest Hospital South on January 7, 2026. Lyman was born on March 2, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Edward Eberhard, Sr. and Grace (McCall) Eberhard.
Lyman was the youngest of five children, one brother and three sisters. He lived and attended school in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was a 1968 graduate of Will Rogers High School.
After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army where he was assigned to Aircraft Maintenance. He served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. In 1969, during his Army career he took vacation leave and married his high school sweetheart, Evelyn Sue Tennison in Hawaii. They were blessed with one son, Dana Eberhard.
Lyman was a hard-working man that loved his family and people in general. He was always on the go and rarely rested. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need, whether they were family or a stranger on the street. He would give the shirt off his back if he thought it could help them.
Lyman was also very compassionate and wasn't afraid to cry in front of others. He was a devoted Christian who lived his life for God and had the heart of a Saint.
He will always be remembered for his marathon talking and sermons. He could say the most unusual things. Each and every person that knew him can recall a "Lyman" moment where he would say something that left mouths open wide. He also had a quirky sense of humor and would often give the strangest advice that only made sense who you sat and thought about it "outside of the box".
Lyman's love for his family, his boundless compassion and devotion to God, and his unique view of life will always be a part of all who knew him. All those who had the privilege to know Lyman will love and cherish the time they had with him. He will be greatly missed.
Lyman was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Eberhard, Sr. and Grace (McCall) Eberhard, his loving wife, Evelyn Sue (Tennison) Eberhard, brother, Edward Eberhard, Jr. and sisters, Janette Marquez and Annette Vickery, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his son, Dana Eberhard of Tulsa, one sister, Suezette Marquez of Tulsa, nieces and nephews: Destiny Eberhard, Sheryl Jeffali, Victoria Hatch, Andria Cooper, Eddie Eberhard, Phillip Vickery, Michael Vickery, and Victor Andrew Marquez all of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lyman also leaves numerous great-nieces and nephews as well.
