Jeri Ann Alvey Wise left this earth unexpectedly and far too soon on Saturday, June 29th, 2024. She was born in Maine on May 6th, 1969.
Jeri was one of 17 children raised by Gwen and Slade Mathews. As a child she enjoyed gymnastics and received many awards. She was a very family-oriented person. She was loving, outgoing, funny, and knew how to light up a room by her presence. If you ask her siblings, there was never a dull moment growing up with her.
Jeri was married to Justin Wise for many years, and they raised 6 children together. Even though they divorced, they remained close friends. Jeri was meant to be a mom and found that to be her greatest accomplishment. Once her children were older, she became a cosmologist and loved interacting with her clients and meeting new people. Her children and grandchildren loved her sense of humor. One of her favorite things to do was having her grandchildren over for sleepovers. She loved getting her family together on holidays and for family dinners. She also enjoyed spending time with her boyfriend, Shayne Harris. Watching sports on TV was one of their favorite things to do together.
Jeri is survived by her children: Brianne Law, Bryce (Bailey) Wise, Blaine (Kendra) Wise, Brody (Jessee) Wise, Brittany (Mykel) Wise, Brennyn Wise; and her 11 grandchildren: Cayden, Shaynie, Jaelynn, Rilynn, Grayson, Khove, Milo, Kellan, Syrus, Sloan, and Oliver. She is also survived by her mother, Gwen Mathews; and siblings: Mike (Laurie) Alvey, Debbie (Glen) Harrison, Dan (Diane) Alvey, Jeff (Monea) Mathews, Lynn (Susie) Alvey, Steve (Shannon) Alvey, Greg (Jeannie) Alvey, Robert Alvey, Sandy Bulfin, John (Jennifer) Alvey, Susan (Bart) Alvey, Brian (Cathie) Mathews, Brad (Andrea) Mathews, Becky Mathews, and Brenda Brann.
She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Max Alvey; stepfather, Jefferson Slade Mathews; and brother, Tommie Alvey.
