Jermont Tigner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by King-Tears Mortuary, Inc. - Austin on Nov. 6, 2024.
It is with mixed feelings of sorrow and joy that we remember and celebrate the vibrant life of Jermont Joel Tigner Sr. Born on November 29th, 1976, in Pineville, Louisiana. Jermont attended Central High School in Beaumont, Texas and graduated in 1994. He then attended Huston-Tilloton University in Austin, Texas and graduated in 1999. Jermont was a radiant beacon of love and laughter who touched the lives of many before his untimely passing on November 4th, 2024.
Jermont was an adventurous spirit, always exploring life with boundless curiosity and enthusiasm. A well-travelled soul, he had lived in Austin, Atlanta, Beaumont, and Maine before settling in Round Rock, Texas. His love for the outdoors was palpable, often channeling his adventurous nature through his hobbies such as playing basketball, shooting pool, cooking, making music, and most importantly, spending time with his family. He was a supportive rock to all who knew him, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand. As Albert Schweitzer once said, "The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others." Jermont embodied this sentiment fully.
Teaching was not just a job for Jermont, but a calling. In the realm of education, he was a beacon of light, guiding young minds towards knowledge and wisdom. His students admired him, his peers respected him, and he was known for his ability to connect with anyone he met, a testament to his funny and loving nature. His fraternity brothers from Alpha Phi Alpha remember him fondly. Jermont was also a proud, doting father and a loving Poppa Tig to his grandchildren. His love for his family was unconditional and unwavering, a testament to his big, loving heart.
Jermont's sense of humor was one of his most endearing traits. He could find something to laugh about in any situation, and his laughter was truly contagious. His ability to bring joy and laughter into any room is a gift that will be sorely missed. As Charlie Chaplin put it, "A day without laughter is a day wasted," and Jermont made sure no day was wasted.
Jermont Tigner Sr. is survived by his daughter, Jermila Jackson, Son Jermont Tigner Jr., his grandkids Azhani Tigner, Journie and Jareah Jackson, his mother, Caron Tigner, and his brothers Ernest, Marshall, and Jerric Tigner. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Tigner.
