Jerold Witten

Jerold "Jerry" Witten, an Army veteran, was born on February 26, 1943, and passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 (82), at his Springfield home with his family by his side.

Jerry had an enormous amount of love for his wife, Joyce. Jerry and Joyce were married in Las Vegas and enjoyed traveling together and taking weekend trips to the casinos.

Jerry loved all seasons-from the warm summer days spent cleaning the pool for everyone else to enjoy, to the chilly fall and winter days decorating for Halloween and Christmas, creating treasured memories for his granddaughters and the neighborhood children.

He dedicated countless hours to creating homemade holiday displays that could be seen every year. Everyone knew and loved the big blue house on the corner of Saxer and Evans.

Jerry had a passion for Mickey Mouse, dogs, Legos, and trains. When he had time for himself, you could find him sitting in front of the television watching westerns or action movies with the TV at max volume.

Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Marlene (Jeff). He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Joyce Witten (Stewart); his children, Krista, Rebecca (Steve), Matthew (Nicole), and Ronald ; his granddaughters, Cheyenne, Brianna, Hayden, Everly, and Emersyn; and his large extended family.
