Jerome Acker Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 21, 2025.
Jerome "Jerry" Acker died on October 15th, 2025 at his home in Coon Rapids, MN, while surrounded by his wife, four children, and three of his grandchildren. He was 76 years old. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rose Acker; children, Andy Acker, Andrea Danielson, Aaron Acker, and Angela Erickson (Andy); and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson Soren Danielson Jr.
Jerry was born in Fridley to Virgil and Jean Acker on January 29th, 1949. After being honorably discharged from the Army in 1971, where he was an aircraft mechanic, he worked for Honeywell/Alliant Tech as a tool inspector for over 40 years.
Jerry was known for his ability to build or fix nearly anything, steadfast devotion to his family, singular dry wit that amused himself as much as others, deep faith, and joy of being a husband, father, and grandfather. Among his six siblings, he was often referred to as their "little big brother" with his capacity to listen, help, and offer advice. On weekends, he could reliably be found watching football, being with family, going to church, watching favorite movies, and working on projects around the house. His humor, intelligence that spanned many subjects, and guiding pragmatic wisdom will be missed by many.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 23rd, at 10:30 AM with visitation at 9:30 AM at the Church of the Epiphany, 11001 Hanson Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN.
