Roger Dale Acker

A Memorial Service for Mr. Roger Dale Acker, 63, of Anderson, SC, formerly of Oxford , will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. Dr. Roland P. Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Roger passed away on September 27, 2025, at his home in Anderson. He lived in Oxford all his life until recently, when he moved to be near family in Anderson.

Born on January 26, 1962, in Anniston, he was the son of Charles and Betty Acker. Roger graduated from Oxford High School in 1980 and from RETS Electronics School. He worked at Ft. McClellan for a number of years, at National Credit Service for his mother, and also at Pollard Publishing Group for his sister. In his younger years, he loved riding dirt bikes, as well as playing paintball and airsoft with his buddies. He enjoyed watching Saturday afternoon motocross racing, Gunsmoke, and old westerns. He loved going to the shooting range and was a great marksman.

Roger loved the holidays and loved laughing. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Foster Acker and Betty Sue Reeder Acker; a brother, Charles Alan Acker; and his grandparents, Perry Ellison and Emma Lee Reeder, and Earnest Foster and Virtue Bentley Acker.

Survivors include his sister, Teri Acker; nieces and nephews, Nick Pollard, Talyn Pollard, Ryan Pollard (Laurie), Ryleigh Pollard, and Ryder Pollard; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
