Jerome J. "Jerry" Beck

Jerome Jonathan "Jerry" / "Fred" Beck was born on July 7, 1943 in Reading, PA to Joseph J. and Virginia S. ( Beer) Beck. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1961. He enlisted in the army and served with the 281st Army Assault Helicopter Company in Vietnam from 1967-1968. He flew helicopters, bringing the wounded out and troops in and out of the jungle.
While in Vietnam, he received many medals. These included:

The Distinguished Flying Cross is the highest military award he could receive, and he received it twice.
He then served 2 more years in Texas, teaching helicopter flight. He returned to Wisconsin, graduating from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh, with a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Accounting. He worked for the U.S. Treasury Department from 1973 until his retirement in 2000.
He married Margaret E. Drexler on December 26, 1970. They had 2 children, Shana Marie and Tricia Michelle, and 2 grandchildren, Justine Jade and Alexander Daniel. He is preceded in death by his daughter Shana, his father Joseph, his mother Virginia, his sister Roberta and his brother Joseph. He is survived by his wife Margaret E. Beck, daughter Tricia M. Schuchart, grandchildren Justine J. Beck and Alexander D. Schuchart.
He is further survived by brothers, James J. (Jean) Beck, John J.Beck and sisters Barbara Burmeister and Nia (Karl) John. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Irene P. (Randolph) Walter, Roseann (Terry) Raupp, Marie C. (Scott) Metz; and brothers-in-law, Michael P. Drexler, Kevin J. (Katherine) Drexler, Joseph F. Drexler, Paul (Connie) Drexler and many other loved family members and friends.
Jerry was faithful to God, his church, his family and to all who needed him. His faithfulness was shown, especially over the last 35 years after his wife, Margaret, had a massive stroke on January 5, 1987. He was attentive to her needs, great and small, even taking care of every last sticky note on the mirror every morning upon waking. Over recent years, Jerry enjoyed playing cribbage with his granddaughter, Justine, and having a beer with his neighbor, Tom on the back porch. He used his "MacGuyver" skills, financial advising and tax accountant background to support his family daily. His daughter, Tricia, knew his love for sweets and regularly spoiled him with pineapple upside down cake and cookies. He generously gave of his time, talent, and treasure to all lives he connected with, especially when it came to yearly taxes.
On Mother's Day 2022, the day before his first stroke, he helped his wife, Margaret, with the Mother's Day Rose sale, working at 4 of 5 Masses selling roses for pro-life causes at St. Gabriel Church in Neenah.
Jerry lived his faith. May God welcome His faithful servant home.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church 900 Geiger St., Neenah. The funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will be at 1:15 p.m. at St. Margaret Cemetery in Neenah. In lieu of flowers, masses are requested for Jerry or donations to VIDA, a crisis pregnancy health center.
