A Life Well Lived and Fondly Remembered
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Katzfey, who departed this world on 21 June 2025 at the age of 79. Born on 4 September 1945, Jerome (Jerry) Edward Katzfey lived a life filled with love and kindness.
Jerry was born in Milwaukee, WI. His parents were Jerome E. and Irene (Zielinski) Katzfey. He was the second of six children in a dedicated Catholic family. From a young age, he exhibited qualities of kindness and resilience that would come to define his life. He graduated from Don Bosco High School in Milwaukee and earned a degree in marketing from UW Whitewater.
Jerry's professional life was marked by his commitment to the automobile industry. He worked for American Motors Corporation, Tecumseh Engines, as well as local car dealerships. From 1968 to 1974, he was enlisted in the US Army Reserve working with the NIKE missile defense systems.
Family was the heart and soul of Jerry's life. As a devoted husband and father, he cultivated an environment of love. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Randi (Jenicek) Katzfey; children Peter (Venus) and Paige (Eric); three grandsons Jackson, Jonathan and Philip; four siblings Bob (Barb) Katzfey, Bill (Sue) Katzfey, Ellen (Scott) Wysocki, and Paul (Misty) Katzfey; and 14 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and oldest brother John Katzfey.
Beyond his professional and familial roles, Jerry embraced life with a passion for the outdoors: hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed music and singing, volunteering, and the community within Generations.
A Legacy of Kindness
Jerry will be remembered most for his kindness and humor. He had an innate ability to make a joke and bring light to any situation. His generosity extended to friends, strangers, and the community alike. Jerry's life was a testament to the power of empathy and love, reminding us all to lead with kindness in our own lives.
Celebration of Life
A memorial service will be held Friday, 27 June 2025 at Suchon Funeral Home, where all are invited to gather and celebrate the life of Jerome (Jerry) Katzfey. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:30 am. The service will be at 11:30 am with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Generations, Plymouth Food Pantry, or Music Makers.
