David Schram Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Suchon Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Plymouth on Mar. 16, 2026.
David N. Schram, 80, of Plymouth, Wis., passed away at his home on March 13, 2026.

Dave was born on April 26, 1945, in Plymouth, Wis., a son of the late Norbert and Hazel (Bubb) Schram. He attended Plymouth Schools and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1963. He served in the Army National Guard from 1965-1971.

On Nov. 5, 1977, he married Janet Grossheim at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. The couple made their home in Plymouth throughout their marriage.

Dave was employed by Sargento Foods for 45 years. He was also a dedicated member of the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department for more than 20 years. In addition, he was a member of the Plymouth Historical Society and Plymouth Car Club, where he proudly displayed his 1930 Ford Model A at local car shows.

Dave was an avid reader with a deep love for history. He often reminisced about his childhood while sharing stories sparked by old postcards of Plymouth. He also enjoyed collecting model trains and attending stock car races, as well as the Indianapolis 500.

Dave enjoyed spending time with his family and missed the companionship of his late dog, Mikie.

Survivors include his wife, Janet; two daughters, Sarah (Robert) Schnettler and Laura Schram; his grandchildren – Reagan and Miles Schnettler – who called him "Pata;" sister, Jean Kornetzke; brothers-in-law, Kevin (Linda) Grossheim and Brian (Diana) Grossheim; sister-in-law, Ann Grossheim; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-in-law, Gordon Kornetzke and David Grossheim, and his father- and mother-in-law, Leroy and Priscilla Grossheim.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; with a prayer service to follow at 1 p.m. Rev. Andrew Thompson, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church will officiate. Military rites will take place following the service and will be performed by the Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post #243. Inurnment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
