Joy Rautmann Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Suchon Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Plymouth on Mar. 18, 2026.
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our much loved Joy Ann Rautmann on March 16, 2026. Joy was the cherished wife of Jim Rautmann and the loving mother of Stacy (Kent) Zocher and Molly (Mark) Wissler. In addition, Joy was "Loki Grandma" to Meghan Wissler, Autumn Zocher, Miah (Mitch) Wilson, and Tessa Zocher; proud "GiGi" to Myles Wilson; and a true friend to many. She loved all of the critters who were lucky enough to pass through her door as well.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents Byron "Barney" and Virginia "Ginny" Barber.

Joy and Jim were happily married for 36 years. Their large home in Plymouth was the center for family gatherings, holidays and annual "GrandmaPaloozas" when their grandchildren were young.

Joy lived up to her name. She was the heart of her family and never missed an opportunity to express her love to them. From teaching her children and grandchildren about the magic in the world and telling them stories when they were young to sending funny messages (often requiring explanations!) and regular phone calls as they grew, Joy never let time pass without reminding her family how much she loved them - more than all of the stars in the sky.

Joy made an impact on many people. Her sense of humor, creativity and headstrong Irish ways charmed all she met and made sure she was remembered. She passed all this on to her family, and we love her for it. The "Joy" will live on for generations to come. Everytime we see a crow flying free or a fairy light twinkle, we'll think of her and know she is always with us.

A small memorial gathering for family and friends will be announced at a later date.
