Don Gerber, 83 years of age, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on March 7, 2026 at UW Madison Hospital in Madison, WI. Don was born on March 20, 1942 in the Town of Rhine, Sheboygan County, to the late Gustave Jr., and Mary Ann Gerber (nee Meyer). He attended Plymouth High School, where he graduated in 1960. Don was awarded as an Eagle Scout by the Boy Scouts of America in his youth, and enjoyed playing basketball on his high school team.

Don served in the Medical Corp of the United States Army, and was in sales with Cutco Cutlery for many years. Don was in the real estate business for over 40 years and enjoyed his career selling homes in the Sheboygan area. He started his real estate career with Lee Realty of Sheboygan, Inc., which later became Coldwell Banker. Don was awarded many times for his excellence in sales.

Don enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, running miles every day, bowling on the men's league at Lakeshore Lanes, playing cribbage and sheepshead, and was a faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he served on the Board of church properties, and also as an usher.

Don also spent time serving as Vice-President of the Sheboygan Jaycees and as President of the Sheboygan Evening Lions Club where he earned the highest award of Melvin Jones Fellow. He was also the President of the Sheboygan City Board of Realtors and served as Chairman of the Board of Appeals for the City of Sheboygan.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Hilda, sister Betty Kalk, and brother Glenn. Don leaves behind his daughter Debbie Rasmussen of Cedarburg, and son Dave Gerber (Jill) of Whitewater, WI. His grandchildren Ryan and Evan Rasmussen and Ben and Griffin Gerber. Sisters Bonnie Gerber of Sheboygan and Denise Knapp of Plymouth.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the TLC unit at UW Madison Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion.

Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, WI on Saturday March 21, 2026. Visitation from 11am until the time of service at noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
