Loa Jean Hill

1929 - 2026

Cambridge, WI - Loa Jean Hill, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Autumn Winds, Cambridge, Wisconsin. Loa was born on December 6, 1929, in Madison, WI, to Milo and Dorothy (Evans) Ottow. She married Robert Hill on June 7, 1952, and together they raised three sons. Robert preceded her in death on July 31, 1998.

Loa graduated from UW-Madison in 1951 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She set up the Occupational Therapy unit at Fairhaven in Whitewater, WI, and was employed there until her retirement in 1985. Loa was a lifelong member of St. John's Community Church.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting and weaving. She was a dedicated fan/season ticket holder of the Wisconsin Badgers football team. Attending the Rose Bowl was a huge highlight. Loa loved dogs, loved to play bridge and was an avid reader.

Loa is survived by her sons: David (Shirley), Fair Oaks, California; Richard Hill, Madison, WI; and Daniel (Kristi), Fort Atkinson, WI. In addition, she is survived by her two grandchildren: Eric Hill, Brookfield, WI, and Stacie Hill, New Orleans, Louisiana.

After having three sons and one grandson, her granddaughter was born on her birthday. She is also survived by her two brothers, John Ottow, Milwaukee, WI and Richard (Dianne) Ottow, Madison, WI, as well as many nieces and nephews. Loa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Dorothy.

Nitardy Funeral Home in Fort Atkinson is assisting the family. A celebration of life will be held at Ralph Park in Fort Atkinson on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
