George Alan Gerber

George Alan Gerber of Doylestown, PA passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026 in the Horsham Center for Jewish Life, North Wales, PA. He was 79 years old. George was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his death.

George was Born in Bronx, NY to the late Charles and Esther (Schneider) Gerber. George spent the first 52 years of his life living in New York state. George and his wife Ellen have been residents of Doylestown, PA since 1998.

He received his bachelor's degree in English from Long Island University. George was formerly employed with the New York State Department of Labor for 20 years; Vice President of CRP-Clean Room Products of Ronkonkoma, NY; and a network administrator with Sodexo Food Service.

George loved science fiction books and movies, Chinese food, gadgets, photography, playing guitar, singing, building his train set, his dogs Savannah and Zira, and most of all his friends and family. George had a contagious charm and sense of humor, which was evident to everyone he met.

He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Ellen (Fogel) Gerber; devoted father of Alison Gerber and Adam Gerber; and dear brother of the late Paul Gerber.

The family will hold a service on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. Burial will take place at the Doylestown Cemetery directly after the service.

Attendees are invited to a memorial luncheon at a pre-determined location following the burial. The family will provide funeral attendees with the location of the memorial.
