Conrad Lanny Gerber, 62 of Riverton, Utah passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 26, 2026. Lanny was born on July 23, 1963 to Conread William Gerber and Remore Pedersen in Salt Lake City, Utah. He met and married Lorraine Kay Clark in 1989 and they were later sealed in the Jordan River Temple for time and all eternity. They were blessed with one daughter, Lauralei. He often referred to our little family as “The Three Musketeers”.
He graduated from BYU with a degree in Applied Mathematics and spent the past 30+ years as an Engineer at L3 Harris. Lanny enjoyed the work that he did in the defense industry and worked hard to excel in his job. But, most important to him was the people that he worked with. He loved his “work” family and treasured the relationships that he built with them.
Lanny also enjoyed many hobbies. Early on in life, he was motivated to achieve and worked to get his pilot’s license and scuba certification. He had a love for the outdoors (fishing, hunting, and traveling) and would take many long drives in the car just to “get out” and have an adventure. He would often take trips to his most favorite place, San Diego. While in San Diego, he loved his visits with family and enjoyed the beach and the sunny weather. His most recent hobby was flying his drones and this hobby satisfied his love of flying and the outdoors. But, the hobby that stayed with him throughout his life was his passion for riding his motorcycle. Lanny would often refer to this as his “Throttle Therapy” and he would ride every chance that he got.
Lanny would say that he is shy and reserved, but for those that knew him best knew him for his easy going personality and his great sense of humor. He was also the type of person that once a friendship was formed it was a friendship for life. He was loyal to his most trusted friends and placed great value in those relationships.
Even during his final days and the hardest moments, Lanny was able to laugh and joke with those around him. We will be forever grateful for the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff at Intermountain Health ER in Riverton, Intermountain Health LDS Hospital, and Intermountain Health Hospice Care who tirelessly cared for him with dignity and respect.
Lanny is survived by his wife Lorraine, and their daughter, Lauralei.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Kenny and Boyd Gerber.
A viewing for friends and family will be held on Friday, March 6th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and on Saturday, March 7th from 9:30 - 10:30 am at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville Utah.
