Our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion to family.
After graduating from Springville High School, she attended Brigham Young University, enrolling in its two-year nursing program, with many of her courses completed at the Salt Lake City campus. She graduated in 1969 and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona with a friend from nursing school. Although she enjoyed the adventure, the desert heat was not for her, and after a year she returned home.
In 1971, she married the love of her life, Bill LeRoy. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Atlanta, where Bill had been accepted to Emory University School of Medicine. During their seven years in Atlanta, she worked as a Registered Nurse at the university hospital, serving on the GYN, pulmonary medicine, and thoracic surgery floors. She provided compassionate and skilled care to countless patients during those formative years.
After completing medical school, they returned home, where Bill opened his Internal Medicine practice in Payson, working out of Mountain View Hospital. She continued her own nursing career at Mt. View Hospital, caring for newborns and children in the Nursery and Pediatrics departments. After 31 dedicated years of service as a Registered Nurse, she retired, leaving behind a career marked by competence, kindness, and deep compassion.
Together, she and Bill raised four children: Jason LeRoy (Gretchen), Monica Chamberlain (Rob), Jonathan LeRoy (Leslie), and Jared LeRoy. Her children all live within an hour’s drive of Springville, a blessing she cherished deeply. She was also the proud grandmother of 11 beautiful grandchildren, whom she adored and who brought immense joy to her life.
She loved reading and watching murder mysteries on PBS—so many that she would occasionally slip into a charming British accent. She also enjoyed traveling and especially cherished the many memories made through their Marriott timeshare membership, which allowed them to explore new places and spend treasured time together.
She was extraordinarily grateful for the many friends she made in high school. Though those years can be filled with angst and stress, she often reflected on the treasured friendships that brought lasting joy and meaning to her life.
She will be remembered for her steady devotion to family, her dedication to nursing, her quick wit, and her warm heart. Her influence lives on in her children, grandchildren, and the many lives she touched through her work and friendship.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
