Jerome T. LaFond

1946 - 2025

Jerome T. LaFond, 79 of Bovey, died on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 in the Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Born on May 18, 1946 in Grand Rapids, MN he was the son of Gene and Elizabeth LaFond. He grew up in Marble, married Charlotte "Cheri" Hamlin on May 6, 1972 in Mound, MN. He was a member of the Greenway Snowmobile Club, enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, the outdoors, his hobby farm, and especially raising 4 boys. He retired from the Medina, MN police department, was the chief of police in McGregor, MN and later worked for Itasca County Road and Bridge for over 20 years.

Survivors include his wife Cheri LaFond of Marble, Children; John LaFond and Randy LaFond both of Marble, Jeremy (Stephanie) LaFond of Medicine Lake and Brian LaFond of Fairbanks, AK. 6 Grandchildren; Jaden, Elias, Evan, Aydan, Ella and Gavin. His siblings; Frances Frank of Spring Lake Park, MN, David (Kathy) LaFond of Coleraine, and Margaret "Rosie" Gjerstad of Long Prairie, MN and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings; Paul LaFond and Bernadette Adamietz.

Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until the 12:30 PM Funeral Service on Friday, August 8, 2025 in the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Coleraine.
