Our loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Jerry Libera, age 91, went to the Lord, June 18, 2024, at Covenant Cooper of Saginaw. He was born August 02, 1932, to the late Arthur and Virginia (Sabkiowiak) Libera in Bay City, Michigan. After graduating from T.L. Handy High School, Jerry served in the United States Army. He later married his loving wife, Margaret "Marge" Zielinski on September 27, 1957, at St. Hyacinth Church. Jerry was proud of his Catholic Faith. He and Margaret were longtime members of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish - St. Hyacinth Church. He retired from Saginaw Steering Gear after 32 years of dedicated service. Jerry, at 91 years old, lived a life full of passion and adventure. He cherished his days on the golf course in his youth, finding solace in the green expanse. Hunting and fishing were not just hobbies for him but a way of connecting with nature, especially at his Cottage in AuGres. It was his sanctuary for over four decades, a place he called home. A dedicated bird hunter and outdoorsman, he was always on the move for the chase. However, his family and raising his sons meant the most to him. His love for the outdoors and being a loving husband and father defined him.
Here to cherish his memory are wife, Margaret "Marge" Libera; sons: James "Jim" Libera, Thomas "Tom" Libera; grandchildren: Katrina, Ann Marie, Ryan, and Michael Libera; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters.
A Vigil service will be held at 6:00 PM, Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1200 Garfield Avenue, Bay City, Michigan. Fr. Jose Cabrera will officiate. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 - 6:00 PM. A Private Burial will take place at Floral Gardens Cemetery.
