Jerome Manuel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home - Kinder on Jan. 9, 2026.
Jerome "Jerry" Manuel was born on October 21, 1948, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, surrounded by love.
Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was rooted in faith, family, and hard work. He was a gentle giant-known for his loving, caring nature and his unwavering dedication to those he loved, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A proud third-generation farmer, Jerry, had a deep love for the land. He found joy in farming, gardening, fishing, and hunting-simple pleasures that reflected his appreciation for God's creation. His work ethic and love of agriculture were a legacy passed down through generations.
Jerry was a very devoted Catholic, a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, and served his community faithfully as a volunteer firefighter for District 4 in Allen Parish. His life was one of service, humility, and quiet strength.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Fay Manuel; his siblings, Myra Batchelor and Alice Ferguson; his children, John Manuel and his wife Rhonda, Regina Franks and her husband Chuck, Sandy Manuel, and Richard Manuel; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many cherished family members and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Alwin and Lola Mae Manuel; his sibling, Phyllis Broussard; his father- and mother-in-law, Allen and Louis Landry; and his son, Richard Jerome Manuel.
Jerome "Jerry" Manuel will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved by all who knew him.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 13, 2026, from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary being held at 5:00 p.m., in the Reed Chapel, at Riley Smith & Sons, 315 N. 14th Street, Kinder, Louisiana. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Kinder, Louisiana. Father Alan Trouille will be officiating. Interment to follow at Liberty Cemetery, Elton.
