Jerome Neubecker Obituary

Jerome Allen Neubecker passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of family and friends at the age of 72. He was born in West Branch, MI on November 28, 1952, to Leon and Viola (Wangler) Neubecker, and was one of nine children blessed to grow up in a home filled with faith, laughter, and love.

After his graduation from Ogemaw Heights High School, Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, a service that shaped his character of quiet strength, loyalty, and determination. After his time in uniform, he went on to build a long and respected career of more than 35 years at Header Products of Rose City, where his hard work and integrity earned the admiration of colleagues and lifetime friends.

A family man through and through, Jerry found his greatest joy in his role as a father and grandfather. He was blessed with four children, who grew to appreciate his dedication and ability to persevere in the face of life’s challenges. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren. Whether it was cheering from the sidelines of a game, a family vacation adventure, or simply sharing stories around the table or campfire, his family was the heart of his world.

Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing, hunting, golf cart rides in nature, and tending to his property. He faithfully followed his home teams - Tigers, Lions, and Wolverines - through good times and bad. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball and bowling and settled into one of his favorite pastimes of golf with dear friends in his later years. He had a simple, down-to-earth appreciation for life’s pleasures - like a cold Busch Light after a day’s work, or a good game of euchre or cribbage.

He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, quiet humor, and unwavering devotion. Surviving are his daughters Amanda (Josh) Blohm, Stephanie (David) Becker, and Jillian (James) Tromba; and his adored grandchildren Riley Blohm, Jordan Blohm, Brooklyn Becker, Alexandrea Becker, Madelyn Tromba, and Mason Tromba, who will carry his memory forward in their lives. He is also survived by his siblings Doreen Sutherland, Virgil (Joanie) Neubecker, Calvin (Cheryl) Neubecker, Dallas (Cathy) Neubecker, Randy (Gloria) Neubecker, and Sharol (Mark) Dantzer; and lifelong ‘brother,’ Jerry Wangler. In addition to his immediate family, Jerry is remembered fondly by numerous family members including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son Craig, friend and soul mate Deb Krestar, parents, and brothers Gregory and Marvin.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at Holy Family Catholic Church in West Branch on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Father Al Pillarelli will officiate. Burial will be at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery with military honors.

The family invites those wishing to honor his memory to consider contributions to the Covenant Healthcare Foundation, Holy Family Catholic Church, or Wild Card Outdoor Adventures.

Jerry’s journey has led him to the peace of heaven, where he is once more with his son Craig, joined by Deb, and cherished loved ones who went before him. Knowing they are together again fills our sorrow with hope, and our tears with gratitude for the love he shared so freely. His story is one of the simple pleasures in life, and he will be deeply missed until we meet again.
