Jerome F "Jerry" Schealler

Jerome Francis Schealler, the son of Francis and Doris (Wobbe) Schealler, was born on December 1, 1958, in Estherville, Iowa. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Graettinger. He died on March 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at Aspire of Estherville at the age of 66 years. He was diagnosed with colon cancer in March of 2022 and fought a courageous three-year battle.
Jerry graduated from Graettinger High School in 1977 before attending Tech School in Emmetsburg, graduating at the top of his class. In 1980, he started his own auto body repair business, The Wreck Room, and ran that shop for 22 years before switching gears. He worked as a service manager at two different dealerships, one in Sioux City and one in Spencer, but spent his most recent years returning to paint and body work at M.E.'s in Estherville. Once he was diagnosed with cancer, he spent his days doing what he loved most - riding his motorcycle. When he wasn't on two wheels, you could find him at the pool table, where his skill and passion for the game were unmatched.
Jerry married Chris Sloan in 1985 and to this union, two daughters were born, Arielle and Dayanera. The couple divorced after 13 years.
Above all, Jerry cherished time with his two daughters and his two grandchildren. Whether he was telling stories, creating memories or riding rides at Arnold's Park with his grandkids, he was happiest when he was surrounded by family. His presence brought warmth and joy to every gathering. His passing leaves a hole in the hearts of those who loved him, but his legacy of love, laughter and adventure will live on. Jerry is survived by his daughters, Arielle (Cody) Kuchel of Kingsley, IA and Dayanera Schealler (Colton Parrett) of Sioux City, IA; grandchildren, Kendall and Kalvin Kuchel; his mother, Doris Schealler; and his siblings, Ann (Luigi) Turletti, Kathy (Steve) Helmich, Alan (Brenda) Schealler, and Paul (Kathy) Schealler.
He was preceded in death by his favorite pool partner and father, Francis Schealler.
